Security:

Alarms are common today and many people find a great benefit in them. They can alert you to a security breach within your home and can even summon the authorities in case of a break-in or fire. These passive systems are your first line of alert.

In order to take a more active role in your security, consider adding these systems to your defense arsenal:

  1. Surveillance cameras allow you to scan the perimeter of your home. From any television or computer in your house you can see the camera activity. Motions sensors can be incorporated to allow you to be notified if a camera sees activity of which you should be aware.
  2. Access control means the ability to control who has access to your property. Common access points include the front door, rear door, pedestrian gate and automobile gate. With the appropriate system, you can see the identity of the visitor and choose to allow or disallow entry. You can even monitor and control access to these points from a remote web site. Imagine opening your front gate for a friend who came over to return your tennis raquet - while you are still at the office.
  3. If you hear a bump in the night should you ignore it? A lighting control system allows you to light the house and grounds with the touch of a button from your master bedroom. And with appropriate surveillance, you can even inspect the house and yard from your bedroom TV.
